115 relating to a requirement that each state university's Internet
126 website include a link to certain employment data.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 51, Education Code, is
159 amended by adding Section 51.9746 to read as follows:
1610 Sec. 51.9746. INTERNET ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT DATA. (a) In
1711 this section, "general academic teaching institution" and "public
1812 state college" have the meanings assigned by Section 61.003.
1913 (b) Each general academic teaching institution other than a
2014 public state college shall maintain in a prominent location on the
2115 institution's Internet website a link to the Texas Consumer
2216 Resource for Education and Workforce Statistics ("Texas CREWS")
2317 report on gainful employment applicable to the institution for the
2418 most recent year for which that report is available.
2519 SECTION 2. Each general academic teaching institution other
2620 than a public state college shall comply with Section 51.9746,
2721 Education Code, as added by this Act, as soon as practicable
2822 following the effective date of this Act, but not later than
2923 February 1, 2016.
3024 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3125 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3226 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3327 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3428 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
