| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 229, Local Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | by adding Subchapter C to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | SUBCHAPTER C. REGULATION OF PRODUCTION OF AGRICULTURE |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 229.061. PROHIBITED REGULATIONS. Notwithstanding any |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | other law, a municipality may not adopt regulations that interfere |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | with a person's right to engage in the production of agriculture, as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | defined by Section 2.001, Agriculture Code. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Sec. 229.062. INJUNCTION. The attorney general may bring |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | an action in a district court in the name of the state to obtain a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | temporary or permanent injunction against a municipality adopting a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | regulation in violation of this section. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. Chapter 240, Local Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | by adding Subchapter D to read as follows: |
