10	4		AN ACT
11	5		relating to route designation for the issuance of a permit for the
12	6		movement of oversize and overweight vehicles in certain counties.
13	7		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
14	8		SECTION 1. Sections 623.219(a) and (b), Transportation
15	9		Code, are amended to read as follows:
16	10		(a) For a permit issued by a port authority located in a
17	11		county that borders the United Mexican States, the commission
18	12		shall, with the consent of the port authority, designate the most
19	13		direct route from:
20	14		(1) the Gateway International Bridge or the Veterans
21	15		International Bridge at Los Tomates to the entrance of the Port of
22	16		Brownsville using State Highways 48 and 4 or United States Highways
23	17		77 and 83 or using United States Highway 77 and United States
24	18		Highway 83, East Loop Corridor, and State Highway 4; and
25	19		(2) the Free Trade International Bridge to:
26	20		(A) the entrance of the Port of Brownsville using
27	21		Farm-to-Market Road 509, United States Highways 77 and 83,
28	22		Farm-to-Market Road 511, State Highway 550, and East Loop (State
29	23		Highway 32);
30	24		(B) the eastern entrance of the Port of Harlingen
31	25		using Farm-to-Market Road 509, United States Highway 77 Business,
32	26		and Farm-to-Market Road 1846;
33	27		(C) the western entrance of the Port of Harlingen
34	28		using Farm-to-Market Roads 509 and 106;
35	29		(D) the southern entrance of the Harlingen
36	30		Industrial Park using Farm-to-Market Road 509; and
37	31		(E) the southern entrance of the Harlingen
38	32		Aerotropolis at Valley International Airport using Farm-to-Market
39	33		Road 509.
40	34		(b) For a permit issued by a port authority located in a
41	35		county that is adjacent to at least two counties with a population
42	36		of 550,000 or more, the commission shall, with the consent of the
43	37		port authority, designate the most direct route from:
44	38		(1) the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 523 and
45	39		Moller Road to the entrance of Port Freeport using Farm-to-Market
46	40		Roads 523 and 1495;
47	41		(2) the intersection of State Highway 288 and Chlorine
48	42		Road to the entrance of Port Freeport using State Highway 288; [and]
49	43		(3) the intersection of State Highway 288 and Chlorine
50	44		Road to the entrance of Port Freeport using State Highways 288 and
51	45		332 and Farm-to-Market Roads 523 and 1495;
52	46		(4) the intersection of North Velasco Boulevard and
53	47		South Avenue J in the city of Freeport to the entrance of Port
54	48		Freeport using North Velasco Boulevard and Farm-to-Market Road
55	49		1495; and
56	50		(5) 21441 Loop 419 in the city of Sweeny to the
57	51		entrance of Port Freeport using Loop 419, State Highways 35 and 36,
58	52		and Farm-to-Market Road 1495.
59	53		SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
