| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 65.051(a), Election Code, is amended to | |
| 11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a) The early voting ballot board shall verify and count | |
| 13 | 13 | provisional ballots as provided by this subchapter not later than | |
| 14 | 14 | the eighth [seventh] day after the date of an election. | |
| 15 | 15 | SECTION 2. Section 67.003(a), Election Code, is amended to | |
| 16 | 16 | read as follows: | |
| 17 | 17 | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b) or (c), each local | |
| 18 | 18 | canvassing authority shall convene to conduct the local canvass at | |
| 19 | 19 | the time set by the canvassing authority's presiding officer not | |
| 20 | 20 | earlier than the ninth [eighth] day or later than the 12th [11th] | |
| 21 | 21 | day after election day. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
