                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 24, 2015      TO: Honorable John Kuempel, Chair, House Committee on General Investigating & Ethics      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1354 by Howard (Relating to the creation of a select interim committee to undertake a comprehensive review of personal financial disclosures made to the Texas Ethics Commission and certain other authorities.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Government Code to create a select interim committee to study and produce a report on the procedures and effects of filing personal financial statements with the Ethics Commission no later than January 15, 2017. The bill would require the Texas Legislative Council and the Texas Ethics Commission to provide any necessary staff and resources to the committee. The agencies indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving two-thirds majority vote in each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
