9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. This Act may be cited as the Robin Hood Relief | |
11 | 11 | Act. | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 2. Section 41.093, Education Code, is amended by | |
13 | 13 | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (b-2) to read as | |
14 | 14 | follows: | |
15 | 15 | (a) Subject to Subsections [Subsection] (b-1) and (b-2), | |
16 | 16 | the cost of each credit is an amount equal to the greater of: | |
17 | 17 | (1) the amount of the district's maintenance and | |
18 | 18 | operations tax revenue per student in weighted average daily | |
19 | 19 | attendance for the school year for which the contract is executed; | |
20 | 20 | or | |
21 | 21 | (2) the amount of the statewide district average of | |
22 | 22 | maintenance and operations tax revenue per student in weighted | |
23 | 23 | average daily attendance for the school year preceding the school | |
24 | 24 | year for which the contract is executed. | |
25 | 25 | (b-2) If the amount of maintenance and operations tax | |
26 | 26 | revenue expended by a school district per student in weighted | |
27 | 27 | average daily attendance exceeds the amount expended during the | |
28 | 28 | preceding school year, the cost of an attendance credit for the | |
29 | 29 | district is reduced by the percentage by which the current | |
30 | 30 | expenditure per student exceeds the expenditure per student during | |
31 | 31 | the preceding school year. | |
32 | 32 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
