| 10 | 10 | | notices and forms must be provided. |

| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 61, Labor Code, is amended |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | by adding Section 61.006 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 61.006. NOTICE LANGUAGES. The commission shall: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (1) make available any notice the commission is |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | required to provide to an employee under this chapter in the two |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | languages that are most commonly spoken in this state; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (2) ensure that employees are notified of an |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | employee's ability to request from the commission notice in either |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | language described by Subdivision (1). |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. Section 61.051, Labor Code, is amended by adding |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (e) The commission shall ensure that employees are notified |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | of an employee's ability to request from the commission a wage claim |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | form in either language described by Section 61.006. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 3. Subchapter C, Chapter 401, Labor Code, is |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | amended by adding Section 401.026 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Sec. 401.026. EMPLOYEE NOTICE LANGUAGES. The division |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | shall make available to an injured employee any notice the division |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | is required to provide to an injured employee under this subtitle in |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | the two languages that are most commonly spoken in this state. For |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | the purpose of this section, notice does not include: |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (1) an agreement, award, report, or decision under |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Chapter 410; |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (2) a commissioner order under this subtitle, |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | including an order under Chapter 408, 410, or 413; |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | (3) a matter involving an administrative violation |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | proceeding under Chapter 415; or |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | (4) a proceeding or activity under Chapter 2001, |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Government Code. |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
