| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 84, Election Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 84.006 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 84.006. APPLICATION FOR BALLOT VOTED BY MAIL: | |
| 13 | 13 | ELECTRONIC COMPLETION. (a) An application for a ballot to be voted | |
| 14 | 14 | by mail may be completed electronically on a device capable of | |
| 15 | 15 | capturing a voter's signature and of allowing the voter to complete | |
| 16 | 16 | an electronic form. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) An application completed electronically under this | |
| 18 | 18 | section must be printed and delivered to the early voting clerk in | |
| 19 | 19 | accordance with Section 84.007. | |
| 20 | 20 | (c) The secretary of state shall adopt rules governing the | |
| 21 | 21 | creation of an electronic form that meets the requirements of | |
| 22 | 22 | Section 84.011. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
