55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to filing requirements applicable to administrative writs
88 of withholding for child support.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 158.503(b), Family Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 (b) The Title IV-D agency shall:
1313 (1) not later than the third business day after the
1414 date of delivery of the administrative writ of withholding to an
1515 employer, file a copy of the writ, together with a signed
1616 certificate of service, in the court of continuing jurisdiction; or
1717 (2) if the court of continuing jurisdiction is located
1818 in a county with a population of less than 3.1 million, maintain a
1919 record of the writ until all support obligations of the obligor have
2020 been satisfied or income withholding has been terminated as
2121 provided by this chapter.
2222 SECTION 2. Section 158.503(b), Family Code, as amended by
2323 this Act, applies to an administrative writ of withholding issued
2424 on or after the effective date of this Act.
2525 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
