9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 158.503(b), Family Code, is amended to | |
11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (b) The Title IV-D agency shall: | |
13 | 13 | (1) not later than the third business day after the | |
14 | 14 | date of delivery of the administrative writ of withholding to an | |
15 | 15 | employer, file a copy of the writ, together with a signed | |
16 | 16 | certificate of service, in the court of continuing jurisdiction; or | |
17 | 17 | (2) if the court of continuing jurisdiction is located | |
18 | 18 | in a county with a population of less than 3.1 million, maintain a | |
19 | 19 | record of the writ until all support obligations of the obligor have | |
20 | 20 | been satisfied or income withholding has been terminated as | |
21 | 21 | provided by this chapter. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. Section 158.503(b), Family Code, as amended by | |
23 | 23 | this Act, applies to an administrative writ of withholding issued | |
24 | 24 | on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
