| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 222, Transportation Code, | |
| 12 | 12 | is amended by adding Section 222.007 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 222.007. ENERGY-PRODUCING REGIONS ACCOUNT. (a) The | |
| 14 | 14 | comptroller shall credit 25 percent of the money deposited to the | |
| 15 | 15 | state highway fund under Section 49-g(c), Article III, Texas | |
| 16 | 16 | Constitution, to an account in that fund known as the | |
| 17 | 17 | energy-producing regions account. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b) Money in the energy-producing regions account may be | |
| 19 | 19 | appropriated only to pay for constructing, maintaining, or | |
| 20 | 20 | acquiring rights-of-way for local public roadways, other than toll | |
| 21 | 21 | roads, in energy-producing regions of this state. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
