The bill would amend the Family Code to authorize courts to grant an annulment of a marriage to a party if the court finds that the other party to the marriage has committed family violence against that party. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
