| 8 | 8 | | regarding prekindergarten classes. |

| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 29.1532(c), Education Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (c) A school district that offers prekindergarten classes |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | shall include the following information in the district's Public |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Education Information Management System (PEIMS) report: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (1) demographic information, as determined by the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | commissioner, on students enrolled in district prekindergarten |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | classes, including the number of students who are eligible for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | classes under Section 29.153; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (2) the numbers of half-day and full-day |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | prekindergarten classes offered by the district; [and] |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (3) the sources of funding for the prekindergarten |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | classes; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (4) the class size and ratio of instructional staff to |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | students for each prekindergarten class offered by the district; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (5) each type of assessment instrument administered to |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | students enrolled in district prekindergarten classes and the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | results of each type of assessment instrument. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2015-2016 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | school year. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
