8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 43.106, Local Government Code, is | |
10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | Sec. 43.106. ANNEXATION OF COUNTY ROADS REQUIRED IN CERTAIN | |
12 | 12 | CIRCUMSTANCES. A municipality that proposes to annex any portion | |
13 | 13 | of a [paved] county road or territory that abuts a county road must | |
14 | 14 | also annex the entire width of the county road and the adjacent | |
15 | 15 | right-of-way on both sides of the county road. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Section 43.106, Local Government Code, as | |
17 | 17 | amended by this Act, applies to an area proposed for annexation on | |
18 | 18 | or after the effective date of this Act or before the effective date | |
19 | 19 | of this Act if the statutory requirements for annexation under | |
20 | 20 | Subchapter C or C-1, Chapter 43, Local Government Code, have not | |
21 | 21 | been completed before the effective date of this Act. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
