The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to provide law enforcement agencies with the option of reporting certain missing children as "high risk." The bill would also amend the Government Code to clarify what qualifies as a non-profit organization for purposes of being eligible to receive grants pertaining to missing children from the Office of the Governor's Criminal Justice Division. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
