114 AN ACT
125 relating to the date for the election of directors of the Hill
136 Country Underground Water Conservation District.
147 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
158 SECTION 1. Section 8844.104, Special District Local Laws
169 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1710 Sec. 8844.104. ELECTION DATE. Each odd-numbered
1811 [even-numbered] year, the board shall hold an election in the
1912 district on the uniform election date in May [November] to elect the
2013 appropriate number of directors. Section 41.001(a)(2), Election
2114 Code, does not apply to the district.
2215 SECTION 2. The board of directors of the Hill Country
2316 Underground Water Conservation District shall adjust the terms of
2417 office to conform to a change in the election date made by this Act.
2518 SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
2619 introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
2720 Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
2821 copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
2922 officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished
3023 under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,
3124 Government Code.
3225 (b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has
3326 submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on
3427 Environmental Quality.
3528 (c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed
3629 its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the
3730 lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
3831 representatives within the required time.
3932 (d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this
4033 state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect
4134 to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled
4235 and accomplished.
4336 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
4437 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
4538 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
4639 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
4740 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
