11	4		AN ACT
12	5		relating to the date for the election of directors of the Hill
13	6		Country Underground Water Conservation District.
14	7		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
15	8		SECTION 1. Section 8844.104, Special District Local Laws
16	9		Code, is amended to read as follows:
17	10		Sec. 8844.104. ELECTION DATE. Each odd-numbered
18	11		[even-numbered] year, the board shall hold an election in the
19	12		district on the uniform election date in May [November] to elect the
20	13		appropriate number of directors. Section 41.001(a)(2), Election
21	14		Code, does not apply to the district.
22	15		SECTION 2. The board of directors of the Hill Country
23	16		Underground Water Conservation District shall adjust the terms of
24	17		office to conform to a change in the election date made by this Act.
25	18		SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
26	19		introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
27	20		Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
28	21		copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
29	22		officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished
30	23		under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,
31	24		Government Code.
32	25		(b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has
33	26		submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on
34	27		Environmental Quality.
35	28		(c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed
36	29		its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the
37	30		lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
38	31		representatives within the required time.
39	32		(d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this
40	33		state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect
41	34		to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled
42	35		and accomplished.
43	36		SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
44	37		a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
45	38		provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
46	39		Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
47	40		Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
