                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 19, 2015      TO: Honorable Charles Schwertner, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1846 by King, Susan (Relating to public comments on federal grants and contracts related to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Chapter 431 of the Health and Safety Code to require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to post a notice on its website regarding the grants and contracts it has requested from or entered into with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for implementing the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The bill would require DSHS to solicit and respond to public comments related to the grants and contracts. DSHS indicates that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
