                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 13, 2015      TO: Honorable Susan Lewis King, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1899 by Schaefer (Relating to an award for certain members of the state military forces who served in defense support to a civilian authority mission.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to allow the adjutant general to adopt rules and regulations related to awarding a Texas Border Security and Support Service Ribbon to Texas military forces who meet certain criteria. This analysis assumes that any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within Texas Military Department resources. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each chamber; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2015.
