|---|

| 14 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Section 22.081, Transportation Code, is amended |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Sec. 22.081. [TAXICAB] LICENSING OF VEHICLES FOR HIRE AND |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION SERVICES. (a) A joint board may license |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | taxicabs transporting passengers to or from the airport and impose |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | fees for issuing the licenses. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (b) A joint board for which the constituent agencies are |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | populous home-rule municipalities may: |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (1) license vehicles for hire, including taxicabs, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | passenger transportation services providing services to or from the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | airport for compensation; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (2) impose fees for issuing the licenses. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
