| 11 | 11 | Sec. 171.042. DEFINITION [DEFINITIONS]. In this | |

| 13 | 13 | [(1)] "post-fertilization [Post-fertilization] age" | |
| 14 | 14 | means the age of the unborn child as calculated from the fusion of a | |
| 15 | 15 | human spermatozoon with a human ovum. | |
| 16 | 16 | [(2) "Severe fetal abnormality" has the meaning | |
| 17 | 17 | assigned by Section 285.202.] | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. Section 171.046(c), Health and Safety Code, is | |
| 19 | 19 | repealed. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
