9- A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
104 AN ACT
115 relating to the purchase of certain commodity items by an entity
126 other than a state agency.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Section 2157.068, Government Code, is amended by
159 adding Subsection (j) to read as follows:
1610 (j) The following entities may purchase commodity items
1711 through the department, and be charged a reasonable administrative
1812 fee, as provided by this section:
1913 (1) the Electric Reliability Council of Texas;
2014 (2) the Lower Colorado River Authority;
2115 (3) a private school, as defined by Section 5.001,
2216 Education Code;
2317 (4) a private or independent institution of higher
2418 education, as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code; or
2519 (5) a volunteer fire department, as defined by Section
2620 152.001, Tax Code.
2721 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
