104 AN ACT
115 relating to participation of certain school districts in the
126 three-year high school diploma plan pilot program.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Section 28.0255(b), Education Code, is amended
159 to read as follows:
1610 (b) This section applies only to a school district:
1711 (1) with an enrollment of more than 150,000
1812 students[;] and
1913 [(2)] located primarily in a county with [that has] a
2014 population of 2.2 million or more [and] that is adjacent to a county
2115 with a population of more than 600,000; or
2216 (2) with an enrollment of more than 5,000 but less than
2317 7,000 students and located primarily in a county that contains the
2418 headwaters of the San Gabriel River.
2519 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2620 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2721 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2822 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2923 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
