77 relating to the applicability of canceling an application for a
88 ballot to be voted by mail to subsequent elections.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 84, Election Code, is
1111 amended by adding Section 84.038 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 84.038. CANCELLATION EFFECTIVE FOR SINGLE ELECTION.
1313 The cancellation of an application for a ballot to be voted by mail
1414 under Section 84.032(c), (d), or (e) is effective for a single
1515 ballot only and does not cancel the application with respect to a
1616 subsequent election, including a subsequent election to which the
1717 same application applies under Section 84.001(e) or 86.0015(b).
1818 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1919 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2020 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2121 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2222 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
