99 relating to the eligibility of a Professional Rodeo Cowboys
1010 Association finals event to receive funding through a major events
1111 trust fund.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Sections 5A(a)(4) and (5), Chapter 1507 (S.B.
1414 456), Acts of the 76th Legislature, Regular Session, 1999 (Article
1515 5190.14, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), are amended to read as
1616 follows:
1717 (4) "Event" means a Super Bowl, a National Collegiate
1818 Athletic Association Final Four tournament game, the National
1919 Basketball Association All-Star Game, the X Games, the National
2020 Hockey League All-Star Game, the Major League Baseball All-Star
2121 Game, a game of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Bowl
2222 Championship Series or its successor or a National Collegiate
2323 Athletic Association Division I Football Bowl Subdivision
2424 postseason playoff or championship game, a World Cup Soccer game,
2525 the World Games, a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association finals
2626 event, a national collegiate championship of an amateur sport
2727 sanctioned by the national governing body of the sport that is
2828 recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, an Olympic
2929 activity, including a Junior or Senior activity, training program,
3030 or feeder program sanctioned by the United States Olympic
3131 Committee's Community Olympic Development Program, a mixed martial
3232 arts championship, the Breeders' Cup World Championships, a Formula
3333 One automobile race, the Academy of Country Music Awards, the
3434 National Cutting Horse Association Triple Crown, a national
3535 political convention of the Republican National Committee or the
3636 Democratic National Committee, or the largest event held each year
3737 at a sports entertainment venue in this state with a permanent
3838 seating capacity, including grandstand and premium seating, of not
3939 less than 125,000. The term includes any activities related to or
4040 associated with an event.
4141 (5) "Site selection organization" means:
4242 (A) the National Football League, the National
4343 Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Basketball
4444 Association, the National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, the
4545 Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the
4646 International World Games Association, the Professional Rodeo
4747 Cowboys Association, or the United States Olympic Committee;
4848 (B) the national governing body of a sport that
4949 is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, the National
5050 Thoroughbred Racing Association, Formula One Management Limited,
5151 or the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile;
5252 (C) the Academy of Country Music;
5353 (D) the National Cutting Horse Association; or
5454 (E) the Republican National Committee or the
5555 Democratic National Committee.
5656 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
5757 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
5858 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
5959 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
6060 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
