77 relating to a study on the cost of a moratorium on administering
88 certain assessment instruments.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. STUDY OF COSTS OF MORATORIUM ON CERTAIN
1111 ASSESSMENT INSTRUMENTS. The Texas Education Agency, in
1212 coordination with the Legislative Budget Board, shall conduct a
1313 study of the costs, including the loss of any federal education
1414 funding, associated with placing a moratorium on administering the
1515 assessment instruments required under the No Child Left Behind Act
1616 of 2001 (20 U.S.C. Section 6301 et seq.).
1717 SECTION 2. REPORT. Not later than January 1, 2017, the
1818 Texas Education Agency shall deliver a report detailing the
1919 financial implications of a moratorium on administering assessment
2020 instruments under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (20 U.S.C.
2121 Section 6301 et seq.) to the commissioner of education, governor,
2222 lieutenant governor, and speaker of the house of representatives.
2323 SECTION 3. EXPIRATION. This Act expires February 1, 2017.
2424 SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect September
2525 1, 2015.
