9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. STUDY OF COSTS OF MORATORIUM ON CERTAIN | |
11 | 11 | ASSESSMENT INSTRUMENTS. The Texas Education Agency, in | |
12 | 12 | coordination with the Legislative Budget Board, shall conduct a | |
13 | 13 | study of the costs, including the loss of any federal education | |
14 | 14 | funding, associated with placing a moratorium on administering the | |
15 | 15 | assessment instruments required under the No Child Left Behind Act | |
16 | 16 | of 2001 (20 U.S.C. Section 6301 et seq.). | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. REPORT. Not later than January 1, 2017, the | |
18 | 18 | Texas Education Agency shall deliver a report detailing the | |
19 | 19 | financial implications of a moratorium on administering assessment | |
20 | 20 | instruments under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (20 U.S.C. | |
21 | 21 | Section 6301 et seq.) to the commissioner of education, governor, | |
22 | 22 | lieutenant governor, and speaker of the house of representatives. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. EXPIRATION. This Act expires February 1, 2017. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect September | |
25 | 25 | 1, 2015. |
