 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to parental notice on enrollment in a public school of a
 student who is not immunized.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Section 38.001, Education Code, is amended by
 adding Subsections (g) and (h) to read as follows:
 (g)  When a person who has not received the immunizations
 required by this section enrolls in a public elementary or
 secondary school, the school shall provide notice of the person's
 enrollment and lacking immunizations to the parent or guardian of
 each student enrolled in the school.  The notice may not identify
 the person lacking immunizations.
 (h)  A student's parent or guardian who receives notice under
 Subsection (g) may request transfer of the student to another
 public school as provided by Subchapter B, Chapter 25.
 SECTION 2.  Sections 38.001(g) and (h), Health and Safety
 Code, as added by this Act, apply beginning with the 2015-2016
 school year.
 SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
