114 AN ACT
125 relating to the initial inspection period for motor vehicles
136 purchased by certain commercial fleet buyers.
147 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
158 SECTION 1. Section 548.102(a), Transportation Code, is
169 amended to read as follows:
1710 (a) The initial inspection period is two years for a
1811 passenger car or light truck that:
1912 (1) is sold in this state or purchased by a commercial
2013 fleet buyer described by Section 501.0234(b)(4) for use in this
2114 state;
2215 (2) has not been previously registered in this or
2316 another state; and
2417 (3) on the date of sale is of the current or preceding
2518 model year.
2619 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2720 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2821 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2922 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3023 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
