| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 209.00592, Property Code, is amended by | |
| 13 | 13 | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (a-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), and except as | |
| 15 | 15 | provided by this subsection, a property owners' association is not | |
| 16 | 16 | required to provide an owner with a voting method that is not | |
| 17 | 17 | required by a dedicatory instrument. The association must allow an | |
| 18 | 18 | owner to vote by absentee ballot or by proxy in any vote or election | |
| 19 | 19 | in which a vote may be cast or given in person. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
