| 14 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 15 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | is amended by adding Section 225.106 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | Sec. 225.106. SGT. TANNER STONE HIGGINS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | (a) The portion of State Highway 154 from the municipal limits of |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | Yantis in Wood County north to the municipal limits of Sulphur |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | Springs in Hopkins County is designated as the Sgt. Tanner Stone |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | Higgins Memorial Highway. |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | (1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | designation as the Sgt. Tanner Stone Higgins Memorial Highway and |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | any other appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 29 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 30 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 31 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 32 | 26 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
