14 | 7 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
15 | 8 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 662, Government Code, is | |
16 | 9 | amended by adding Section 662.107 to read as follows: | |
17 | 10 | Sec. 662.107. HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION MONTH. | |
18 | 11 | (a) January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month to increase | |
19 | 12 | awareness of human trafficking in an effort to encourage people to | |
20 | 13 | alert authorities to any suspected incidents involving human | |
21 | 14 | trafficking. | |
22 | 15 | (b) Human Trafficking Prevention Month may be regularly | |
23 | 16 | observed through appropriate activities in public schools and other | |
24 | 17 | places to increase awareness and prevention of human trafficking. | |
25 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | |
