| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 2301, Occupations Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 2301.206 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 2301.206. ANNUAL REPORT ON USED MOTOR VEHICLE | |
| 13 | 13 | COMPLAINTS. (a) In this section, "used motor vehicle" means a | |
| 14 | 14 | motor vehicle that has been the subject of a first sale. | |
| 15 | 15 | (b) Not later than December 31 of each year, the department | |
| 16 | 16 | shall publish on the department's Internet website a publicly | |
| 17 | 17 | available report that: | |
| 18 | 18 | (1) identifies and defines categories of complaints | |
| 19 | 19 | made by purchasers of used motor vehicles to the department; | |
| 20 | 20 | (2) identifies the number of complaints, if any, in | |
| 21 | 21 | each category for each used motor vehicle dealer in this state; | |
| 22 | 22 | (3) analyzes the information in the report and | |
| 23 | 23 | compares the reported information to that reported in the previous | |
| 24 | 24 | year; and | |
| 25 | 25 | (4) identifies any differences in the content and | |
| 26 | 26 | format of the report from the previous year. | |
| 27 | 27 | (c) The report must be posted on the department's Internet | |
| 28 | 28 | website in a searchable and readable format. | |
| 29 | 29 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
