10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 2052.055, Occupations Code, is amended | |
12 | 12 | to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 2052.055. COMBATIVE SPORTS [MEDICAL] ADVISORY BOARD | |
14 | 14 | [COMMITTEE]. (a) The presiding officer of the commission, with the | |
15 | 15 | commission's approval, may appoint a combative sports [medical] | |
16 | 16 | advisory board [committee] to advise the department concerning | |
17 | 17 | health issues for combative sports event contestants. | |
18 | 18 | (b) If the commission elects to appoint an advisory board | |
19 | 19 | [committee], the commission by rule shall establish: | |
20 | 20 | (1) the number of board [committee] members; | |
21 | 21 | (2) qualifications for appointment to the board | |
22 | 22 | [committee]; and | |
23 | 23 | (3) the purpose and duties of the board [committee]. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
