The bill would amend the Penal Code to remove the displaying of a firearm or other deadly weapon in a public place in a manner calculated to alarm from a list of offenses under Chapter 42, Penal Code. The bill would remove the offense from a list of offenses that would affect the employment of certain individuals. Local Government Impact There would be a loss of revenue to local entities due to the fines associated with the offense; however, those costs would be offset by savings from enforcement and prosecution of the offense. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
