| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 551.087, Government Code, is amended to | |
| 11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 551.087. DELIBERATION REGARDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT | |
| 13 | 13 | NEGOTIATIONS; CLOSED MEETING. This chapter does not require a | |
| 14 | 14 | governmental body to conduct an open meeting: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) to discuss or deliberate regarding commercial or | |
| 16 | 16 | financial information that the governmental body has received from | |
| 17 | 17 | a business prospect or another governmental entity that the | |
| 18 | 18 | governmental body seeks to have locate, stay, or expand in or near | |
| 19 | 19 | the territory of the governmental body and with which the | |
| 20 | 20 | governmental body or the governmental entity providing the | |
| 21 | 21 | financial information is conducting economic development | |
| 22 | 22 | negotiations; or | |
| 23 | 23 | (2) to deliberate the offer of a financial or other | |
| 24 | 24 | incentive to a business prospect described by Subdivision (1). | |
| 25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
