| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 115, Local Government | |
| 11 | 11 | Code, is amended by adding Section 115.0036 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 115.0036. EXAMINATION OF RECORDS OF CERTAIN SPECIAL | |
| 13 | 13 | DISTRICTS. The county auditor shall have continual access to and | |
| 14 | 14 | may, at the county auditor's discretion, examine and investigate | |
| 15 | 15 | the correctness of the books, accounts, reports, vouchers, and any | |
| 16 | 16 | other records of: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) a special district if the district's budget | |
| 18 | 18 | requires the approval of the commissioners court; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) any subsidiary of a special district described by | |
| 20 | 20 | Subdivision (1) that is supported wholly or partly by public funds. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
