| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 531, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amended by adding Section 531.0997 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Sec. 531.0997. TEEN PREGNANCY CRISIS AREA REPORT. (a) In |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | this section, "teen pregnancy crisis area" means a zip code area in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | which the teen birth rate is at least two times the national teen |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | birth rate. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (b) The commission, using information available from the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Department of State Health Services and the United States Centers |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | for Disease Control and Prevention or other information the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | commission determines is reliable, shall prepare an annual report |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | on teen pregnancy crisis areas. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (c) The report must include: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (1) a list of teen pregnancy crisis areas; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (2) a list of zip code areas that were classified as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | teen pregnancy crisis areas during the previous year, but are no |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | longer teen pregnancy crisis areas. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (d) Not later than December 1 of each year, the commission |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | shall post the report on the commission's Internet website. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2015, the Health and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Human Services Commission shall prepare and post on the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | commission's Internet website the initial report required under |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Section 531.0997, Government Code, as added by this Act. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
