| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 411.1953 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 411.1953. WAIVER OF RENEWAL FEES FOR QUALIFIED HANDGUN | |
| 13 | 13 | INSTRUCTORS. Notwithstanding any other provision of this | |
| 14 | 14 | subchapter, the department shall waive any fee required for the | |
| 15 | 15 | issuance of a renewed license under this subchapter if the | |
| 16 | 16 | applicant for the license is certified as a qualified handgun | |
| 17 | 17 | instructor under Section 411.190. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 19 | 19 | to an applicant for a renewed license under Subchapter H, Chapter | |
| 20 | 20 | 411, Government Code, as amended by this Act, who submits the | |
| 21 | 21 | application on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
