A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to the cost of education index.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 42.102, Chapter 42, Education Code is
amended by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to
read as follows:
(b) Except as provided in Subsection (c), the cost of
education index adjustment adopted by the foundation school fund
budget committee and contained in Chapter 203, Title 19, Texas
Administrative Code, as that chapter existed on March 26, 1997.
(c) The commissioner shall adjust the index in Subsection
(b) to reflect the cost of windstorm insurance.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
