104 AN ACT
115 relating to public notice of the time for voting during an early
126 voting period.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Section 85.007, Election Code, is amended by
159 adding Subsections (d) and (e) to read as follows:
1610 (d) Any notice required under this section must also be
1711 posted:
1812 (1) on the Internet website of the authority ordering
1913 the election, if the authority maintains a website; and
2014 (2) for a primary election or general election, by the
2115 secretary of state on the secretary's Internet website.
2216 (e) The authority ordering an election shall forward its
2317 election notice to the secretary of state in a manner that affords
2418 the secretary of state sufficient time to comply with Subsection
2519 (d)(2).
2620 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2721 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2822 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2923 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3024 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
