| 13 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 85.007, Election Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 15 | 9 | | adding Subsections (d) and (e) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | (d) Any notice required under this section must also be |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | posted: |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | (1) on the Internet website of the authority ordering |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | the election, if the authority maintains a website; and |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | (2) for a primary election or general election, by the |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | secretary of state on the secretary's Internet website. |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | (e) The authority ordering an election shall forward its |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | election notice to the secretary of state in a manner that affords |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | the secretary of state sufficient time to comply with Subsection |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | (d)(2). |

| 26 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 29 | 23 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
