|---|
| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 25.027, Tax Code, is amended by amending |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Subsection (b) and adding Subsections (c) and (d) to read as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (b) This section does not apply to: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) an aerial photograph that depicts [five or] more |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | than one separately owned building [buildings]; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (2) a street level photograph of only the exterior of a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | building; or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (3) a field record or overhead sketch of the property |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | that depicts only: |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (A) the outline of one or more buildings on the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | property; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (B) the location of an interior wall in an |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | outlined building located on the property that separates the main |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | living area of the building from an ancillary space such as a |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | garage, patio, or porch; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (C) the general landscape features of the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | property, including ponds, pools, and walls; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | (D) the dimensions of or distances between the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | buildings and features depicted. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (c) The owner of an improvement to real property described |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | by Subsection (a) may submit a written request to the chief |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | appraiser of the appraisal district in which the property is |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | located requesting that the appraisal district's Internet website |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | not include information that identifies the person as the owner of |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | the property. If a request is made under this subsection, the |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | appraisal district may not post information on, and must as soon as |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | practicable remove information from, the district's Internet |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | website that identifies the requestor as the owner of the property |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | described in the request. |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | (d) An appraisal district shall post and maintain on the |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | appraisal district's Internet website a statement informing |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | property owners of the right to make a request under Subsection (c). |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
