| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 130.166, Education Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Sec. 130.166. AUSTIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT SERVICE |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | AREA. The service area of the Austin Community College District |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | includes the territory within: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (1) Hays, [Gillespie,] Caldwell, and Blanco counties; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (2) Travis County, except the territory within the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Marble Falls Independent School District; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (3) Williamson County, except the territory within the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Florence, Granger, Hutto, Lexington, Taylor, and Thrall |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | independent school districts; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (4) the part of the Nixon-Smiley Consolidated |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Independent School District located in Gonzales County; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (5) the part of the San Marcos Consolidated |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Independent School District located in Guadalupe County; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (6) Bastrop County, except the territory within the |

| 33 | 33 | | The service area of the Central Texas College District includes the |

| 35 | 35 | | (1) the Killeen Independent School District, located |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | in Bell County; |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | (2) the Copperas Cove Independent School District, |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | located in Coryell County; |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | (3) Fort Hood and North Fort Hood, located in Bell |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | County; |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | (4) Coryell, Gillespie, Hamilton, Lampasas, Llano, |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | Mason, Mills, and San Saba counties; |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | (5) the Brady, Lohn, and Rochelle independent school |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | districts located in McCullough County; |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | (6) the Burnet Consolidated Independent School |

| 55 | 55 | | SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act applies |
|---|
| 56 | 56 | | beginning with the 2015 fall semester, except that during the |
|---|
| 57 | 57 | | 2015-2016 academic year the Austin Community College District may |
|---|
| 58 | 58 | | continue to treat the area removed by this Act from the district's |
|---|
| 59 | 59 | | service area as if the area were still in the district's service |
|---|
| 60 | 60 | | area as necessary to avoid an unreasonable interruption of junior |
|---|
| 61 | 61 | | college services in the area. |
|---|
| 62 | 62 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 63 | 63 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 64 | 64 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 65 | 65 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 66 | 66 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
