10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 107.015(c), Family Code, is amended to | |
12 | 12 | read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (c) If indigency of the parents is shown, an attorney ad | |
14 | 14 | litem appointed to represent a child or parent in a suit filed by a | |
15 | 15 | governmental entity shall be paid from the general funds of the | |
16 | 16 | county or by the governmental entity that filed the suit in an | |
17 | 17 | amount according to the fee schedule that applies to an attorney | |
18 | 18 | appointed to represent a child in a suit under Title 3 as provided | |
19 | 19 | by Chapter 51. The court may not award attorney ad litem fees under | |
20 | 20 | this chapter against the state, a state agency, or a political | |
21 | 21 | subdivision of the state except as provided by this subsection. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
