55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the payment of certain attorney ad litem fees in a suit
88 affecting the parent-child relationship filed by a governmental
99 entity.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 107.015(c), Family Code, is amended to
1212 read as follows:
1313 (c) If indigency of the parents is shown, an attorney ad
1414 litem appointed to represent a child or parent in a suit filed by a
1515 governmental entity shall be paid from the general funds of the
1616 county or by the governmental entity that filed the suit in an
1717 amount according to the fee schedule that applies to an attorney
1818 appointed to represent a child in a suit under Title 3 as provided
1919 by Chapter 51. The court may not award attorney ad litem fees under
2020 this chapter against the state, a state agency, or a political
2121 subdivision of the state except as provided by this subsection.
2222 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
