9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 81, Natural Resources | |
11 | 11 | Code, is amended by adding Section 81.0593 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 81.0593. COMPLAINT FILING ASSISTANCE. The commission | |
13 | 13 | shall establish: | |
14 | 14 | (1) a method by which a person may submit a written | |
15 | 15 | complaint to the commission: | |
16 | 16 | (A) through e-mail in a manner that allows the | |
17 | 17 | commission to provide follow-up assistance in identifying and | |
18 | 18 | obtaining information necessary for the commission to begin | |
19 | 19 | investigating the complaint; or | |
20 | 20 | (B) through a user-friendly format provided on | |
21 | 21 | the commission's Internet website that helps users identify the | |
22 | 22 | information necessary for the commission to begin investigating the | |
23 | 23 | complaint; and | |
24 | 24 | (2) a toll-free telephone number through which a | |
25 | 25 | person may obtain assistance in filing a written complaint with the | |
26 | 26 | commission. | |
27 | 27 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
28 | 28 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
29 | 29 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
30 | 30 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
31 | 31 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
