77 relating to studies and reports on immunization exemptions.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 38, Education Code, is
1010 amended by adding Section 38.0028 to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 38.0028. IMMUNIZATION EXEMPTIONS AND VACCINE
1212 PREVENTABLE DISEASE OUTBREAKS; REPORTING. (a) The Department of
1313 State Health Services, using the required annual report submitted
1414 by all schools under Section 38.002(c) and any other relevant
1515 resources, shall create a biennial report on vaccination exemptions
1616 and any outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases.
1717 (b) The department shall make the report described by
1818 Subsection (a) available on the department's Internet website not
1919 later than December 1 of each even-numbered year.
2020 SECTION 2. The Department of State Health Services shall
2121 post the initial report required by Section 38.0028, Education
2222 Code, as added by this Act, not later than December 1, 2016.
2323 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2424 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2525 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2626 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2727 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
