| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 84.007, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (e) to read as | |
| 12 | 12 | follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (b) An application must be submitted to the early voting | |
| 14 | 14 | clerk by: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) mail; | |
| 16 | 16 | (2) common or contract carrier; [or] | |
| 17 | 17 | (3) telephonic facsimile machine, if a machine is | |
| 18 | 18 | available in the clerk's office; or | |
| 19 | 19 | (4) electronic transmission of a scanned application | |
| 20 | 20 | containing an original signature. | |
| 21 | 21 | (e) The early voting clerk shall designate an e-mail address | |
| 22 | 22 | for receipt of an application under Subsection (b)(4). The | |
| 23 | 23 | secretary of state shall include the e-mail addresses on the | |
| 24 | 24 | secretary of state's website. | |
| 25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
