| 6 | 6 | | relating to the lease of undeveloped real property by certain |

| 7 | 7 | | hospital districts. |

| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 281.0511, Health and Safety Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (d) Notwithstanding Subsections (b) and (c) of this |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | section, the board may, with the approval of the commissioners |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | court, lease undeveloped or vacant real property for not more than |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 99 years to provide for the development and construction of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | facilities designed to generate revenue for the financial benefit |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of the district. The board, directly or through a nonprofit |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | corporation, may contract or enter into a joint venture with a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | public or private entity as necessary to enter into a lease under |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | this subsection. The board may enter into a lease under this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | subsection only after an open meeting in accordance with Chapter |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | 551, Government Code, including Section 551.072, Government Code. |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
