| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 81, Natural Resources | |
| 12 | 12 | Code is amended by adding Section 81.0523to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Section 81.0523 EFFECT ON OTHER LAW. The rules and | |
| 14 | 14 | standards promulgated and adopted by the commission pursuant to its | |
| 15 | 15 | jurisdiction under any statute or law preempt and supersede any | |
| 16 | 16 | ordinance, order, or rule adopted by a political subdivision of | |
| 17 | 17 | this state relating to any aspect, facility or phase of the | |
| 18 | 18 | pipeline industry. A political subdivision may petition the | |
| 19 | 19 | commission for permission to promulgate more restrictive rules and | |
| 20 | 20 | standards related to conditions for mapping, inventorying, | |
| 21 | 21 | locating or relocating pipelines over, under, along or across a | |
| 22 | 22 | public street, alley or other public property in the boundaries of | |
| 23 | 23 | the municipality. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
