| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, | |
| 10 | 10 | is amended by adding Section 225.108 to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Sec. 225.108. ALLAN B. RITTER HIGHWAY. (a) | |
| 12 | 12 | Notwithstanding | |
| 13 | 13 | Section 225.001(c), the portion of U.S. Highway 69 between State | |
| 14 | 14 | Highway 347 and State Highway 73 in Jefferson County is designated | |
| 15 | 15 | as the Allan B. Ritter Highway. The designation is in addition to | |
| 16 | 16 | any other designation. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: | |
| 18 | 18 | (1) design and construct markers indicating the | |
| 19 | 19 | designation as the Allan B. Ritter Highway and any other | |
| 20 | 20 | appropriate information; and | |
| 21 | 21 | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at | |
| 22 | 22 | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 24 | 24 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 25 | 25 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 26 | 26 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 27 | 27 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
