| 13 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 262, Family Code, is |
|---|
| 15 | 9 | | amended by adding Section 262.011 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | Sec. 262.011. SEALING OF COURT RECORDS FILED |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | ELECTRONICALLY. For purposes of determining whether to seal |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | documents in accordance with Rule 76a, Texas Rules of Civil |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | Procedure, in a suit under this subtitle, the court shall consider |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | documents filed through an electronic filing system in the same |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | manner as any other document filed with the court. |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to a |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | suit affecting the parent-child relationship that is pending in a |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | trial court on or filed on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 29 | 23 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
