115 relating to the sealing of certain court documents filed
126 electronically in a child protection suit.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 262, Family Code, is
159 amended by adding Section 262.011 to read as follows:
1610 Sec. 262.011. SEALING OF COURT RECORDS FILED
1711 ELECTRONICALLY. For purposes of determining whether to seal
1812 documents in accordance with Rule 76a, Texas Rules of Civil
1913 Procedure, in a suit under this subtitle, the court shall consider
2014 documents filed through an electronic filing system in the same
2115 manner as any other document filed with the court.
2216 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to a
2317 suit affecting the parent-child relationship that is pending in a
2418 trial court on or filed on or after the effective date of this Act.
2519 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2620 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2721 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2822 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2923 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
