8	8	AN ACT
9	9	relating to the definition of medical schools for medical residency
10	10	programs.
11	11	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
12	12	SECTION 1. Section 61.501(1), Education Code, is amended to
13	13	read as follows:
14	14	(1) "Medical school" means the medical school at The
15	15	University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, the medical
16	16	school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical [Health
17	17	Science] Center [at Dallas], the medical school at The University
18	18	of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, The University of
19	19	Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, the medical school at The
20	20	University of Texas at Austin, the medical school at The University
21	21	of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the medical education program of The
22	22	University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, the medical
23	23	school at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the
24	24	medical school at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
25	25	at El Paso, the Baylor College of Medicine, the college of
26	26	osteopathic medicine at the University of North Texas Health
27	27	Science Center at Fort Worth, or the medical school at the Texas A&M
28	28	University Health Science Center [Medical Program].
29	29	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
30	30	a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
31	31	provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
32	32	Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
33	33	Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
