9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 531.1022, Government Code, is amended by | |
10 | 10 | amending Subsections (a) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | Sec. 531.1022. PEACE OFFICERS. (a) The commission's | |
12 | 12 | office of inspector general shall employ and commission not more | |
13 | 13 | than five peace officers at any given time for the purpose of | |
14 | 14 | assisting the office in carrying out the duties of the office | |
15 | 15 | relating to the investigation of fraud, waste, and abuse in the | |
16 | 16 | Medicaid program and may employ peace officers for the purpose of | |
17 | 17 | the investigation of fraud in the S | |
18 | 18 | upplemental Nutritional | |
19 | 19 | Assistance Program administered by the commission. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
